REPTILIA THE FIRST
When approached by a well respected french curator for an upcoming show, what do you do? You kindly accept and promise to build something the world has never seen before. This was the starting point for Reptilia. We were inspired by 1930’s concept cars and based the overall shape in that ever so elegant S shape that dominated the art deco lines of the past. As we were to be representing Thailand, we decided to use Siamese Croc belly to form the seat and wrap the tank in an elongated manner to highlight the unconventional use of materials and re-define what a motorcycle should feel like. We converted a 1950’s Harley springer as we needed to personify that old and mechanical feel and couple it with the presence that a 1930’s car fog light would convey.
The Bobber ergonomics is pretty much the only modern visual cue for this bike, but should interrupt your visual reference with the horn instrument shaped exhaust that leaves a beautiful melody a true thumper sould. We decided to use firestone ans off road tires to throw off the expected and match the texture of the croc belly for a bit of symmetry.
Success! Best in show.
